Chalfont St Peter

Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire

Case Study

PROJECT SUMMARY

This gorgeous contemporary family home started life as an unassuming, unattractive bungalow. However, my clients both had architectural flair, super grit and determination, allowing me to follow their aspirational brief and completely transform the exterior and interior.

The main challenge when turning this ugly duckling into a contemporary family home was taking the roof off the bungalow and raising the ground floor ceiling and roof by 300 mm, keeping within the surrounding neighbourhood roof lines. Well worth doing as this created space upstairs for two additional ensuite bedrooms and walk in dressing room.

We increased the footprint with a striking glazed 3m extension to the rear and redesigned the internal open plan space to flow better emblazoned with natural light. We used visualisation throughout the process, as the design evolved, to confirm that the design sat comfortably in its plot and continued to meet the family’s dream and all within the budget.

The client successfully contracted the build, supply and installation of the project, to be completed. An exciting project and one of my favourite transformations.
